James Earnest Rowe was born in
1860, in Tennessee at the foot of Lookout Mountain. His father died when he was just a boy. His mother remarried and Mr. Rowe left
home. After some time, he came to Texas and went to work
for a Mr. Edwards. The Edwards family
treated him as a son and he was with them until he married. On November 20, 1889, James Earnest married
Elizabeth Burleson, born February 6, 1871 in Ellis County, Texas, the daughter
of H.M. Burleson and his wife, Nancy Dupree Burleson.
The Edwards family lived in Ellis County
and Mr. Edwards visited with the Rowe’s until Mr. Rowe’s death in 1921.
After their marriage, Mr. and Mrs.
Rowe lived in Ellis County, until H.M. was 5 or 6 years old, then they
moved to Munday, Knox
County. They bought a farm and lived there until they
bought the farm near Keller, where they both died. They are buried in Mt.
Olivet Cemetery
in Fort Worth, Texas.

J.P. Rowe was born April 5, 1891 in Mountain Peak,
Ellis County, Texas. He was married to
Katie Eskrige of Midlothian,
Texas. He died January 17, 1919 in Midlothian,
Ellis County, Texas.
2)
Nannie Mae Rowe was born May 1, 1893 in Mountain Peak,
Ellis County.
She was married to Ed C. West of Munday,
Texas. She died January 10, 1955 in Fort
Worth, Tarrant County,
Texas.
3)
Clayton L. Rowe was born April 14, 1895 in Mountain Peak,
Ellis County.
He was married to Ruby Headlee of Denton. He died July 19, 1952 in Big Spring, Howard County, Texas.
4)
Emma K. Rowe was born January 26, 1897 in Mountain Peak.
She was married to Virgle Davis of Keller,
Texas. She died December 26, 1949 and is buried in Bourland Cemetery
in Keller, Tarrant County, Texas.
5)
H.M. Rowe was born November 28, 1898 in Mountain Peak.
He was married to Sue Tabor of Denton. He died February 2, 1965 in Big
Spring, Howard
County.
6)
Rudolph Rowe was born August 27, 1901 in Mountain Peak.
He was married to Iva Gill of California. He died February 22, 1945 in Torrance,
Los Angeles, California.
7)
Tommie Rowe was born January 21, 1904 in Mountain Peak.
She was married to John R. Loftis of Fort Worth.
She died January 16, 1942 in Fort
Worth.
8)
Jimmie Rowe was born June 7, 1906 in Mountain
Peak. She was married to Ernest B. Coon
of Woodson. She died June 21, 1986 in Whitfield County, Georgia.
9)
Vera Rowe was born May 23, 1908 in Munday, Knox County, Texas. She died at two years of age, June 23, 1910
in Munday.
10) James
Earnest Rowe, Jr. was born July 29, 1910 in Munday, Knox County. He died at three and one half months of age
on November 18, 1910 in Munday.
11) Edward
B. Rowe was born August 28, 1911 in Keller, Tarrant County Texas. He was married to Faye ---- of
Breckenridge. He died December 15, 1962
in Fort Worth.
