Robert Friley Taylor, born in 1871
and died in 1915, was a veteran of the Spanish American War in the Philippines, having served with Troop H, 4th
Regiment, United
States Calvary from 1898
to 1902.
In 189-, he was married to Sally J.
White, born March 11, 1879 and died December 26, 1944, the eldest child of
William H. and Rebecca Thompson White.
Land inherited by the bride became
the home of the Taylors, located .03 tenths of a mile south west of the
community of Jellico. Their entire
lifetime was spent in the Lone Elm Community.
Both are buried at White’s Chapel
Cemetery.
Their children are:

John William, born September 1893 and died December
1893.
2)
Otto B., born April 1896 and died April 10, 1965.
3)
Hallard Alexander, born June 11, 1899 and died November
23, 1950.
4)
Juanita Mae, born May 30, 1905 and died October 15,
1918.
5)
Robert Earl, born November 9, 1907 and died September
9, 1940.
Robert F. Taylor was the first Post
Master for the Jellico, Texas Post Office, January 10, 1898. The Lone Elm School was located less than a one
quarter mile north of Jellico along Randoll
Mill Road.
The Jellico General Store/Post Office, Gin, Grist Mill and Blacksmith
Shop was along the Keller-Grapevine wagon road, now Highway 1709 (Southlake
Boulevard), where Davis Boulevard (FM 1938) now intersects.
