Jack Yates

Jack Yates came to Texas in about 1872 and to the Keller area in about 1882.  He was a farmer and affiliated with the Baptist church.

Jack and Annie Yates were the parents of the following children:

1)      Lela Faye Yates died at age 16.

2)      Winifred Yates married ---- Jackson.

3)      Tom Marshall Yates died at age ten.

4)      Paul Clifford Yates married Freda Henderson.

5)      Edmund C. Yates married Eugenia Richardson.

6)      Henry Elbert Yates married Cozette Hembree.

7)      Marjorie Yates married Hamilton Beazley.

8)      Malcolm G. Yates.

9)      John Gordon Yates married ------ Curruth.

Jack Yates died January 1, 1920 and was buried at Mt. Gilead.  Annie Yates died in 1947 and is buried in Houston, Texas.

John Marshall Yates and his first wife, Virginia Christian Yates were the parents of the following children:

1)      Ann Mary, born 1821 and died 1862.  She was married to George Kinzer.

2)      John Henry, born 1821 and died in 1821.

3)      Martha Millicent, born 1823 and died 1886.  She was married to Elijah Turner.

4)      Francis Caroline, born 1825 and died 1849.  She was married to William McCully.

5)      George Ellen, born 1827 and died 1849.  She was married to William Lowery.

6)      Nancy Coleman, born 1830 and died 1906.  She was married to Hugh Trimble.

7)      Michael Warfield, born 1832 and died 1832.

8)      Sarah Elizabeth, born 1834 and died 1904.  She was married to George Washington Hunt.

9)      Paul Christian, born 1836 and died 1902.

10)  Polly Sutton, born 1838 and died in 1838.

11)  Willie Viley, born 1839 and died in 1930.

John Yates and his second wife, Elizabeth, were the parents of the following children:

12)   Virginia, born 1842 and was married to W.T. McCanne.

13)   Robert Arthur, born 1844 and died in 1861, killed at Shiloh.

14)   Thomas Marshall, born 1846 and died in 1901 in Fisher County, Texas.  He was married to Ida Gordon.

15)   Reuben Coleman, born 1848 and died 1852.

16)   J.E.M. Yates, born 1850 and died 1930 at Grapevine, Texas.  He was married to Kate Jenkens.

17)   Rubena Kate, born 1853, died as an infant.

18)   Jack Yates, born 1855.

19)   Lucy Beal, born 1859 and died in 1859.

The children of Henry C. and Rebecca Lucas Wallace are:

1)      James Westwood Wallace, born in 185-, never married, died in his early nineties.

2)      Virginia Wallace, born unknown, died about 1921, never married.

3)      Annie R. Wallace, born in 1863 and died in 1947.

4)      Kate Wallace, married Henry Foy, died at Baird, Texas.
