William Flanagan, a native of Georgia was born 1819, died 1902, in Keller, Texas. His wife, Nancy A. Pitts, a native of Alabama, was born
January 8, 1821 and died
October 27, 1890, both are buried
in Bourland Cemetery. When the family left Mississippi
and came to Texas
by wagon train about 1866, William walked behind the wagon. The family settled two miles west, one half
mile south of Keller. The Flanagan’s
were farmers and affiliated with the Presbyterian Church. The children of
William and Nancy Pitts Flanagan are as follows: Andrew Jackson Flanagan, George Flanagan, Joe
Flanagan, Bud Flanagan, Dave Flanagan, John Jefferson Flanagan, and Mary
Flanagan. John Jefferson served as a
Private Co. E, 2nd Regiment Mississippi Infantry during the Civil
War. George is buried in Bourland Cemetery.
Andrew Jackson Flanagan, the son of
William and Nancy Flanagan, born March 10, 1853 in Guntown, Mississippi was
married to Annie Boone in 1884 in Grapevine, Texas. Annie was born January 28, 1872 in Keller, Texas,
the daughter of John Boone and Mary Ellen Crawford Flanagan. Andrew died December 13, 1930 and Annie died
September 25, 1935 and are buried in Bourland
Cemetery. The children of Andrew and Annie Boone
